How is the training delivered?

Absolutely no prior knowledge is assumed, or required. All New Synapse training is built on the ‘sweet spot’ where the research findings from psychology, neuroscience and medicine all converge.

Youngsters

Youngsters are instructed either on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups (3 max) to guard individualised attention. A parent or guardian must be in attendance throughout; guardians are provided with additional explanatory material for some of the modules so that they can deliver ‘first line’ support to the youngster(s) once home.

Seniors

Seniors’ programmes are offered individually, or in small groups (8 max). Some folk enjoy the privacy of individual or small group interaction amongst only close friends and family; others may appreciate the synergies that flow from a larger group dynamic. In either case, the key information is presented in a highly colourful and deliberately visual manner to maximise impact and retention. The style is less didactic and more of a key ‘information sharing’ exercise. Comprehensive, mainly graphical summary notes support each module so that you can listen and participate, knowing that the information you need has been captured effectively for you to take home regardless.

Focus on fun

Irrespective of the size of group, or age group, the hallmark of all New Synapse training is a relaxed environment. The programme is delivered in purpose-designed facilities unlike any formal learning environment.

New Synapse sits in a West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) six miles from the Jurassic Coast (a renowned World Heritage Site).

Ethos

Training of HM Forces personnel has always been shaped by results-driven pragmatism – notably so amongst volunteers for the UK’s parachute and commando units. Mission success depends on developing each individual to his / her full potential.

Good training and good briefing saves lives, when it matters most. To retain any credibility trainers must first ‘walk the talk’ themselves. New Synapse is indelibly stamped with this same ethos. Its commitment to under-promise but over-deliver remains unswerving.

Corporate & Large Groups

From April 2024 New Synapse will offer delivery of the Alzheimer’s Active Prevention programme at a location of your choice. We are going mobile, nation-wide. For a flat fee of £2,000 (excluding venue hire, and modest travel and accommodation costs where appropriate), caring and imaginative employers can therefore offer this unique training and briefing to their own selected in-house audience (100 pax maximum). The bigger the audience, the greater the value! A 100-strong audience reduces per capita costs to just £20.00.
